Chisinau, July 8, 2020 – Development of the partnership between the European Aviation Institute and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Moldova regarding the certifying of aeronautical personnel in the Republic of Moldova

In the context of signing the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of aeronautical training between the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Moldova and the European Aviation Institute (IEA) of the Romanian Aeronautical Association (AAR), on July 2nd, WSS specialists together with delegates of the Institute had a joint meeting with representatives of general aviation from the Republic of Moldova – aircraft professional associations, users of light and ultra-light aircraft from Horesti aerodrome and representatives of Chisinau’s Aeroclub and Parachuting Federation of the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting addressed the problems facing the general aviation sector, the development opportunities of this sector, as well as setting priorities for the immediate future. Other topics that were discussed concerned finding the solutions for the training of technical maintenance personnel (including ELA category licenses), the implementation of a training and examination program for technical personnel and those wishing to obtain Part 66 maintenance licenses, the updating of the national regulatory framework which regulates the field of general civil aviation by applying the best European standard practices, but also the elaboration of a strategy for the development of civil aviation in the Republic of Moldova. Another objective of the mission was to identify priorities for the implementation of EASA standards and practices, ensuring the training of professionals in the aeronautical field of the Republic of Moldova.

Following the identification of the most problematic aspects in the field of aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority together with the partners from the academic environment of the Republic of Moldova represented by the Technical University, pointed out the main actions that need to be taken to ensure the proper training of specialists in the field of technical maintenance, all technical, logistical and organizational aspects being thoroughly discussed.

EASA Licensing Part 66 Program

Students of the Technical University of Moldova who choose additional modules according to EASA Part 66 syllabus conducted by IEA / AAR in partnership with TUM, upon completion of studies and scoring to pass the examinations will fulfil the conditions for obtaining the Part 66 license.

Aviation Master Management Program

The possibility of developing and implementing a master’s program, developed in partnership with IEA / AAR, was also discussed. The program that meets all national standards and regulations of the Republic of Moldova will be subsequently approved by the National Quality Assurance Agency in Education and Research (ANACEC).
