Description

Aerodynamics is the study of the motion of air, particularly its interaction with a solid object, such as an airplane wing. Aerodynamics is a sub-field of fluid dynamics and gas dynamics, and many aspects of aerodynamics theory are common to these fields.

Even if it’s not necessary for a mechanic to know everything about Aerodynamics and Theory of Flight, it is important to understand the relationship between the aircraft and the forces that act upon it during flight.

A basic understanding of the physical laws of nature which affect flying and on the ground aircrafts is the first step in studying aerodynamics. Understanding the motion of air around an object enables the calculation of forces and moments acting on the object. In many aerodynamics problems, the forces of interest are the fundamental forces of flight: lift, drag, thrust and weight. Understanding how pilots control and counteract those forces prepares engineers to make intelligent decisions affecting the flight safety for airplanes and helicopters.

Tips to open and complete our PDF Application Form

Save the form to your computer before completing it
