About the Course

This course provides structured training in Safety Management Systems (SMS) in compliance with ICAO and EASA requirements. The course aims to deepen participants’ understanding of SMS principles, safety risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion, enabling them to contribute effectively to organisational safety performance and a strong safety culture in daily operations.

To Whom It Is Addressed

The SMS Initial Training Course is addressed to personnel whose duties may affect aviation safety and who need to understand how Safety Management Systems function within their organisation. Under current EASA regulations, this includes, but is not limited to:

Accountable managers and senior leadership responsible for safety governance
Safety managers and personnel directly involved in implementing and maintaining the SMS
Supervisors and operational managers across flight operations, maintenance, air traffic services, aerodromes, and other safety-critical functions
Frontline staff whose work interfaces with hazard identification, reporting, risk assessment, or safety assurance activities
Personnel involved in investigation, audit, quality, and compliance functions

The course ensures that participants understand their safety responsibilities, can support hazard identification and risk control processes, and contribute to performance monitoring, safety culture improvement, and continuous safety enhancement in accordance with EASA SMS requirements.
